New 2018 Papo Toys Featuring Marine Life

Feb 26, 2018

Papo is known for their highly detailed figurines. This toy manufacturer has a wide selection of toys of all kinds, but their animals may be their most popular ones. We’ve already introduced Papo’s new prehistoric collection last month. This month, we’ll focus on the 2018 papo marine life figurines, where you’ll find a number of larger predators as well as an albatross and Inuit.

The Blacktip reef shark is one of the most abundant species of sharks found in the tropical coral reefs of the Indian and Pacific Oceans. You can easily identify this shark by the telltale black tips on its fins. These are accurately depicted on the Papo model as well. These sharks aren’t particularly aggressive. However, since they prefer shallow waters, they might mistake a human’s legs for prey. Generally, they’re prone to be skittish and would rather find different food.

The Whale Shark throws many people off, because the name doesn’t clearly identify what this is. Is it a whale or a shark? This animal is one of the largest known fish species still living. It belongs to the shark family, but it moves very slowly. It may have been confused with a whale at some point, because it feeds through a filter and eats plankton. There are only two other types of sharks that are also filter feeding, the basking and the megamouth shark.

Many whale species are endangered, which is why it’s important to learn more about these magnificent animals. The Blue Whale is the largest animal to ever have lived on Earth as far as we know it. They’re even bigger than the largest dinosaurs that ever existed. If you think that elephants are big, you may be surprised to know that the tongue of a Blue whale weights as much as an entire elephant.

Surprisingly, Blue whales eat krill almost exclusively, which are very small crustaceans. Whales have to dive down more than 330 feet to find their food during the day, although they may feed on the surface at nighttime. Blue whales have baleen plates instead of teeth. To eat, they just open their mouth and take in large quantities of animals. Then they push the water out through the plates and swallow the food.

The Sperm whale sets its own records. This whale is the largest toothed predator as the largest of the toothed whales. These whales migrate seasonally to feed and breed. At this time, Sperm whales are listed as vulnerable and temporarily protected by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

Papos collection also includes a Whale calf. This whale calf seems to belong to the Humpback whale species, which are also a type of baleen whale. Its distinctive body shape includes a knobby head and long pectoral fins.

When you think of marine life, you can’t forget the birds that live near the ocean and feed on the fish that swim in it. One of the more noticeable members of this group is the Albatross. These birds are at home in the southern oceans and can get rather larger. Their wings can span 10 feet wide.

The Papo Albatross is also depicted with its wings open and ready to take flight. It may have just spotted a tasty fish and is ready to go and retrieve it. The intricate coloring of the albatross can be observed on the Papo figurine, too. For example, the wings are dark on top but light underneath.

The Papo marine collection wouldn’t be complete without including at least one human. That’s why you can also see a Papo Inuit. The Inuit are the indigenous people who inhabit the Arctic regions of Greenland, Canada, Alaska, Russia, and Denmark. They are used to dealing with extremely cold temperatures and are always dressed accordingly.

The most remarkable thing about this group of people is the fact that they can survive in an area where nothing grows reliably. While they may eat grasses, roots, seaweed, stems, and berries, their main diet is high in protein and fats. They primarily hunt and eat whales, walrus, caribou, seals, polar bears, birds, and fish.

Papo’s selection of toys is fun to play with. The marine animal collection is no exception. Even if you don’t know everything there is to know about each type of animal, these intricately painted figurines provide hours of fun. It’s time to play with Papo’s Marine life collection!
