After a gestation of about 4 months, the lioness can give birth to 4 young, who during the first days of their life will be blind and therefore completely dependent on their mother. Until the age of 4 weeks, they will be kept away from the group and will eat only their mother's milk. After that they will mingle with the rest of the group.
