The Appaloosa is a breed of saddle horse native to the northwestern United States. The great peculiarity of these horses is to have very often a spotted dress. It generally measures from 5 to 5 1/2 feet at the withers for a weight of 900 to 1000 pounds. The Appaloosa is a horse with a docile and quiet character, but who is also lively and receptive. For the rider, it is a horse that is strong, resilient, agile and manageable.
