The Red Stripe Vest is at the core of a pirate’s clothing. With striped pockets from the washed-up ship’s large sail, and more gold than they can contain, a pirate can always get by. The buttons are, of course, made of gold coins from the captain’s treasure so the owner of the vest always has something to barter with. The vest is naturally embossed with the skull and crossbones, so no one will mix the captain up with a landsman.
Pretend-play builds social and emotional roles in life. And, exercising the imagination develops self-confidence, leading to better problem solving in the future.
